Get to know me

When I was 5 years old I was diagnosed with sensory integration dysfunction. Seams on socks would bother me. I could only wear 100% cotton shirts from Michael's Craft Store. I was afraid of going up and down stairs or escalators. Even jumping into pools scared me as well as going down steep and rocky trails on hikes. Additionally, intense fragrances in perfume aisles caused me to feel nauseated.

I was fortunate to go to occupational therapy for 2 years where I strengthened my fine and gross motor dexterity, coordination, and balance. While many of these issues still affect me, I have developed skills to cope with them.

And there are thousands of people like me who struggle with their sensory issues. With the right tools and support, we can manage our symptoms and live fulfilling lives.

About Sense It

Sense It started as my undergraduate senior project for industrial design. It was intended to help young adults, like me, have a tool to alleviate their anxiety and sensory overload in their way, anywhere and everywhere they go.

Now, I strive to continue that philosophy and expand on it. All of the products that are a part of Sense It LLC. are designed by me with the utmost concern and understanding for people who have sensory sensitivities because I have them too.

Mission

Sense It LLC. strives to alleviate anxiety and sensory overload for everyone across the neurodiversity spectrum.

Service

01

Providing support resources for individuals to address both the physical and emotional challenges of anxiety and sensory overload. These resources focus on promoting relaxation, sensory regulation, and emotional well-being, aiming to empower individuals with a stronger sense of control and comfort in their everyday lives.

Education

02

By shedding light on the complexities of neurological disorders and working towards destigmatization, we can create a more inclusive and understanding society. Sensory Processing Disorder, in particular, is a condition that greatly impacts individuals' daily lives, yet often goes unrecognized. By advocating for its recognition as a stand-alone diagnosis in the DSM-5, we can help ensure those affected receive the support and understanding they deserve.

Solutions

03

Creating products that incorporate calming stimming techniques, such as textured surfaces and soothing colors, can offer individuals dealing with anxiety and sensory overload a sense of security and relaxation. Introducing elements that cater to repetitive movements can help manage emotions and instill a feeling of control, fostering a more inclusive and supportive setting.

Solution

For my thesis project I created a sensory fidget multitool. For more details, see more!
